Youth Tennis Instructor 2
About The Position
The Tennis Instructor 2 position provides tennis program instruction and facility supervision with some independence. Teaches the rules and fundamentals of tennis to youth ages 5 - 14. Promotes an environment consistent with program philosophies and goals. A day in the life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: Supervises participants in tennis programs and ensures safe use of facilities. Maintains security of facility. Reports vandalism and theft. Maintains all required records and forms. Responds to accidents and incidents according to procedures. Notifies supervisor and appropriate law enforcement or emergency services if necessary. Sets up and breaks down of equipment and facilities. Maintains the cleanliness of facilities and equipment. Communicates effectively with participants, parents and staff, providing accurate information related to work assignment. Participates in district wide special events as needed. Schedule: This is a seasonal position from early June to mid August. Programs scheduled: Monday-Thursday Typical workday: 8am-2pm.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Currently attending High school or High school diploma or equivalent
- Some work/volunteer experience related to position
- Basic knowledge of Tennis
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Strong Knowledge of: Tennis instruction including the rules of the sport; Safety guidelines related to assignment.
- Skill and Ability to: Demonstrate initiative, exercise some independent decision making, and plan activities and tasks; Provide leadership from within team; Effectively communicate with staff and public, interact with a variety of patrons/participants; Actively participate in all activities; Establish and maintain positive, respectful and cooperative relationships with all contacts.
