Requirements

A high school or high school equivalency diploma and one year of experience working with individuals with I/DD in a group setting; OR
An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field that is unrelated to social work or psychology and six months’ experience working with individuals with I/DD in a group setting; OR
An associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or a related field
Must be 21 years of age or older
Possess a valid driver's license
Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances

Has strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
Knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by these individuals.
Will be able to assist with daily living activities and implement behavior management strategies.
Can remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrate patience and understanding.

Responsibilities

Providing direct care and support to up to five residents, including supervision, meal preparation and transportation to appointments and activities.
Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment for each resident.
Collaborative with team members to ensure consistent and effective delivery of therapeutic care.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other career development activities.
Maintain accurate and complete resident records, including progress notes and incident reports.
