About The Position

The YMCA is seeking energetic and dedicated child care Youth Specialists to provide direct supervision in a safe, fun and educational environment for all Middle School Academy participants. Our Leaders provide a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a high school diploma, GED, certificate of completion, or provide proof of enrollment in high school or a GED program if graduation is anticipated within 2 years
1 year previous child care experience is preferred
Desire and ability to work with children of all ages
Demonstrated responsibility and dependability
Excellent communication skills
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred
Level 2 background clearance and 10-panel drug screen required.

Responsibilities

Supervises an assigned group of children to ensure safety
Nurtures children and provides academic growth opportunities that support the school curriculum
Engages children by facilitating program activities that are designed to enrich their lives
Establishes a positive rapport with children, parents, and staff while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times
