About The Position

A class incumbent is responsible for administering the clinical programs and operations of a 30 bed residential treatment unit for youths. Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here. Administers and directs the operation of a 30 bed youth population to include a behavior management system and facility operations. Oversees and directs staff who provide assessment services and program development and implementation. Provides clinical input and supervision in treatment plan development and implementation. Determines placement, classification, referrals for special programs, aftercare and discharge for youths based on input from Treatment Team (Alternatives, Probation/Parole, Education, etc.). Participates with other administrative and management staff in the development of immediate and long range program plans for treatment services both within the institution and in the community in order to meet the needs of youth and their families. Oversees the preparation of reports on the progress and behavior of youths. Prepares reports and maintains records on facility's activities. Administers and instructs staff in the normative culture system.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Behavioral or Social Science or related field.
  • Three years experience in experience in health or human services work such as applying theories, principles, laws and practices of health or human services programs and services that assist with and improve life for individuals, families, or communities such as financial support, employment, unemployment, housing, health care, disease prevention, substance abuse, child protective services, physical/mental health treatment and prevention or rehabilitation.
  • Six months experience in staff supervision which includes planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others.
  • Knowledge of health or human services program administration such as overseeing and directing the development, implementation and evaluation of health or human services programs and services; planning and establishing short and long range program goals and objectives.
  • Providing advice to other agency organizational units through consultation.
  • Knowledge of developing policies or procedures.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Pre-employment Drug Testing: Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
  • Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire.
  • All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment.
