About The Position

The primary purpose of the Treatment Mall Coordinator is to provide supervision of patient activities in the Child and Adolescent Programming (CAP) malls and other programming areas, under the supervision of the School Principal. This employee will work with the members of other disciplines to ensure patients have individual group/activity schedules and attend scheduled groups/activities. This position is responsible for ensuring patient safety while in the CAP footprints, coordinating with the clinical treatment unit staff regarding the movement of patients, and using departmental and hospital procedures to ensure that patients’ locations are known (including reasons patients are not in assigned groups) and available to others upon inquiry. The position contributes to the functioning of the department in other ways, including by accompanying field trips, participating in special events and activities, monitoring the CAP mall footprints for infection control criteria, assigning nursing staff to positions within the CAP treatment mall, and providing programming on occasional weekends when requested by PST Director.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate competency in therapeutic communication and deescalating techniques.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relations
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in organizational skills, leadership skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Must function effectively with other and deal competently with conflict and people demonstrating problematic behaviors
  • Ability to successfully complete all required initial one-time trainings and hospital/clinical orientations.
  • Successful annual completion of hospital training, NVCI training, discipline specific training, and required departmental training.
  • Valid driver's license
  • As required by facility, CPR certification and listing as a Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II by the NC Division of Health Service Regulation required prior to providing direct patient care
  • Associate’s degree in human services or related degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
