About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to assist a pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services to the patients of Central Regional Hospital and Whitaker PRTF. The pharmacy technician work is a skilled one and provides primary support in processing, preparing, and filling medication orders within the Central Regional Hospital Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will operate several different pharmacy computer systems to complete assigned duties. All work is performed under the direct technical supervision of a pharmacist and done primarily in the pharmacy and on the nursing PCUs.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited nine-month Pharmacy Technician program; or High school diploma or General Educational Development diploma and one year of pharmacy-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some positions may require certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Must have an active Driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
  • At least one year recent experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate pharmaceutical technological automation software (Carousels, Outpatient Robots, Bar-Code stations, Automated Tablet Counting machines, Automated Dispensing Units (i.e., Omnicell, Pyxis) and Secure Vault).
