About The Position

The South Meridian Branch of the Treasure Valley YMCA is unlike any other in the country. Our 60,000-square-foot facility is part of a unique collaboration that combines family recreation, education, sports, literacy, and wellness care on a single campus called “The Hill.” Hand in hand with our partners—St. Luke's Health System, the West Ada School District, and the City of Meridian—the South Meridian Family Y will help us build A BETTER US. The Dance Youth Instructor is responsible for creating a friendly, helpful, positive atmosphere for members participating in group classes through supervision and by developing and managing high-quality youth programs. Come be a part of a NEW and EXCITING YOUTH PROGRAM here at the Tomlinson South Meridian YMCA! Schedule: This is a part time position averaging 7-15 hours weekly based on class schedule. Schedule requirements are evenings and days with times varied. Monday through Friday. Pay: $17.94-$26.91 per class rate. Rate based on experience, class length and age group.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dance/Tumbling/Gymnastic Teacher or relevant role, 3 years minimum.
Excellent teaching and communication skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students.
Patient, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver dance lessons in various styles, including contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, acro, for students of different ages and skill levels.
Create a positive and exciting classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Maintain a clean, safe and organized studio space.
Stay current with dance trends and techniques to continually enhance your teaching skills.
Prepare students for recitals/finale performance.
Communicate effectively with the Youth Director.
Follow safety, CAP, and code procedures.
