About The Position

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Mental Health Professional to join our Youth Inpatient Unit. In this role, you will provide therapeutic psychosocial services to youth admitted for inpatient care. This position combines direct clinical work, collaboration with multidisciplinary partners, and responsibility for maintaining safe, effective unit practices. Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field or must meet waiver criteria of RCW 71.24.260.
  • EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum of 2 years of job-related experience)
  • Two years of documented, supervised clinical experience serving youth with mental health and/or co-occurring behavioral health disorders.
  • LICENSURE: Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in RCW 71.05.020

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing treatment services within youth crisis residential or youth inpatient setting.
  • Experience facilitating therapeutic groups.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required documentation for newly admitted clients and establish collaborative relationships with collateral contacts, including nursing staff, prescribers, and families.
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans for voluntary and involuntary residents, incorporating relevant medical and nursing information.
  • Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans that address acute needs appropriate for inpatient care.
  • Develop discharge plans for voluntary and involuntary residents, including arranging and documenting seven-day follow-up appointments and coordinating with referral sources.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy services and maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory, agency, and funding requirements.
  • Complete screenings, assessments, intakes, and discharges and coordinate aftercare services.
  • Gather collateral information from families related to history, court involvement, finances, and discharge planning.
  • Provide clinical supervision and education to milieu staff as requested by the Program Manager.
  • Complete and sign ITA documents, appear in court as required, and authorize discharges per WAC requirements.
  • Supervise unit operations in the absence of the unit manager as requested.
