About The Position

CHJC’s Therapeutic Crisis Residence Program (TCRP) is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health to provide short-term, intensive, and stabilization-focused care for youth experiencing behavioral health crises. The goal is to assess, stabilize, and connect youth to services in a safe and supportive environment. TCRP provides 24/7 monitoring and supervision, as well as intensive crisis treatment and support for the youth, family, and caregivers to facilitate the youth’s successful return home and/or to the community. The TCRP Clinician is responsible for the provision of direct clinical services to youth and their families, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions. They work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care. The Clinician will also provide crisis intervention, support during transitions, and work toward stabilizing youth in an emotionally safe environment.

Requirements

Licensure by the New York State Department of Education as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LCSW-R) or Licensed Psychologist.
Experience working with youth and families in a clinical or crisis setting.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mental health disorders.
Must be trained or willing to complete training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Must demonstrate effective and excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent time-management skills.
Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to be clear, courteous, and professional.
Able to react to change productively and manage other duties as assigned.
Must maintain privacy of confidential information.
Successful completion of routine pre-employment requirements as mandated by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Mental Health and Office of Children and Family Services along with ongoing clearances and exclusion checks. These requirements are to include employment health requirements, reference checks, criminal background checks/fingerprinting, State Central Registry clearance and your eligibility to work in the United States.
A valid NYS driver’s license is required.
Corporate Compliance, HIPAA Privacy Security, and Workplace Harassment and Discrimination Training and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, First Aid and CPR will be required following date of hire.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough assessments of youth and their families to identify mental health needs and crisis triggers
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings
Provide individual, group and family therapy to youth in crisis, focusing on emotional stabilization
Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques in a supportive environment
Collaborate with team members and external providers to ensure appropriate follow-up care and referrals
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all clinical services and assessments
Engage in regular supervision and professional development to remain current with best practices in crisis intervention and mental health care
Provides clinical support and mentorship to service providers/paraprofessional staff
Participates in interdisciplinary staff meetings to discuss cases and formulate treatment plans
Contacts patient’s families and other collaterals to obtain information to assess and monitor patient’s progress and treatment as appropriate
