Youth Community Specialist
About The Position
✨Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Community Specialist at our Evening Learning Center in Berrien County, Michigan✨ At Rite Care, we will be providing after-school intervention to at-risk youth. Students will report to the ELC to participate in evidence-based groups, skill building, tutoring, mentoring case management and other structured activities during the time of day that is the highest risk for anti-social behaviors. Rite Care will operate as a diversion program for youth at risk of becoming involved in the Juvenile Justice System, or those who are currently involved and need additional community support. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. As a Community Specialist, you will have the unique opportunity to create a positive, safe and supportive environment for the youth we serve while building a career rich in growth opportunities and self-fulfillment.
Requirements
- BA/BS in related field required.
- 1 year of prior experience working with at-risk juveniles and their families, or other related experience
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical and TB test
Responsibilities
- Planning, implementation and oversight of the Program
- Leading groups
- Daily monitoring, contact and supervision of the youth assigned
