About The Position

Foundations for Living is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Care Specialist to work with at-risk youth receiving treatment services for trauma. A Youth Care Specialist works closely with our youth ensuring our residents are safe and programming successfully within our facility.In this role you will be responsible for providing daily care and supervision to our residents, while working collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure the delivery of quality care. This position allows you to utilize your own creativeness to support our youth on a daily basis. The Specialist provides direct care, safety and security, and supervision of residents through positive role modeling. The Youth Care Specialist actively works to support the facility mission of providing an environment of safety so that the residents feel empowered to heal the wounds of the past and build a foundation of hope for the future. Foundations For Living is an 84 bed secure residential treatment facility for youth addressing mental health and substance abuse issues. Located on the edge of Mansfield, Ohio, in a 14 rolling, wooded acres rural setting, Foundations For Living has easy access to I-71.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • At least one year of experience working with at-risk youth in a residential setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in challenging situations.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid State Driver’s License with appropriate Endorsements and
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid (part of orientation class)
