Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor or Coordinator, assist in conducting recreational activities; prepare recreational facilities for participant use; and monitor recreational activities to ensure that activities are safe and appropriate.EXAMPLES OF WORK (Illustrative Only): Supervise facilities for youth basketball games and practices. Have basic knowledge of the rules of Basketball. Attend program specific training Keep scores for youth basketball games and report outcomes to Recreation Coordinator. Monitor recreational activities to ensure activities are safe and appropriate. Assist in maintaining a variety of records such as accident reports, game score sheets, etc. Maintain program equipment in good working order; ensure facility and grounds are kept neat, clean and litter free. Prepare facilities for use; ensure that appropriate equipment is available for games and practices; setup and take down tables, other furniture and equipment. Perform routine custodial work such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning hard surfaces and wiping spills. Provide basic first aid in case of minor injury - Give participant a band-aid or ice pack. Interact with coaches, players and parents and fans professionally. Enforce league/department rules and follow department policies regarding rule enforcement. Perform related duties as assigned. Be enthusiastic, have a good sense of humor and be a good role model.
