About The Position

Position Summary: As a Youth Apprentice, you will engage in a 450 hr+ comprehensive learning and working experience designed to develop your skills and knowledge in various Manufacturing Roles such as; Production, Machine Maintenance, Supply Chain. This role is ideal for individuals seeking; hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within a supportive environment, potential for future employment or advanced apprenticeship placement (advanced placement opportunities based on YA goals and abilities – Engineering, Human Resources, etc.), valuable experience to enhance your resume and career prospects.

Requirements

  • Currently in High School (must be 16 years of age)
  • Enrolled in a youth apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training initiative.
  • Strong interest in the designated trade or industry.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-the-job training to learn the fundamentals of the designated trade or industry.
  • Acquire practical skills through hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and educational sessions to enhance technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Support staff members in various tasks and projects as directed.
  • Shadow experienced workers to observe and learn best practices.
  • Assist in the execution of tasks related to the assign department/profession.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and maintain awareness of potential hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, including hours worked, tasks completed, and skills acquired.
  • Prepare reports and documentation as required by supervisors or program administrators.
  • Actively seek feedback from supervisors and mentors to identify areas for improvement.
  • Take initiative in self-directed learning and skill development.
  • Participate in networking opportunities to build professional relationships within the industry.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated supervisor.
