About The Position

This will be a zero assigned position with the apprentice performing clinically-related or administrative duties including data entry, filing, and to seek exposure, develop skills and gain experience working in a health care business environment. Hours offered will cover both the regular work week from Monday - Friday in the OP and/or acute care setting and Saturday-Sunday in the acute care setting.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in high school and working through a state or school sponsored apprenticeship or training program.
  • Demonstrates basic academic skills.
  • Applies critical thinking and information processing skills appropriately.
  • Uses effective personal and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Observes and assists the department or unit to gain knowledge of roles within the healthcare environment to determine career path options while in high school.
  • Maintains and orders stock for department or unit.
  • Cleans equipment and work areas.
  • Completes various errands as directed, including pick-up and delivery of trays, specimens, reports, etc.
  • Performs general clerical functions as assigned.
  • Develops academic and technical skills, and effective communication skills in areas of interest.
  • Responsible for interacting with the community, Aurora employees, and patients.
