About The Position

This position will safely transport children to and from scheduled location. In addition to maneuvering the van, the YC Van Driver will also help children on and off the van, as well as occasionally accommodate children with disabilities by loading and unloading wheelchairs, crutches, braces, and other medically necessary items.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Possess a current driver's or commercial driver's license as required by state law.
Successfully complete an approved training course in Driver Safety.
Desire to work with diverse groups of children.
Exhibit professionalism, patience, self-motivation, high energy, positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Observe the speed limit, all road signs, and signal signs.
Maintain a working knowledge of AR Minimum Licensing Requirements regarding transportation.
Be aware of and report any van issues regarding cleanliness and maintenance.
Be attentive to all activities in and around the van to assure safe transportation.
Greet children as they enter and exit the van.
Work effectively and professionally with schools, off-site activity personnel, and co-workers.
Bring all concerns or problems to the attention of the Youth Programs Director.
