About The Position

The Youth Activities Worker provides supervision and leadership for children in after-school and/or summer programs. This role supports program goals by ensuring a safe, engaging, and structured environment. Additional duties may be assigned to meet program and departmental needs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or must be a currently enrolled high school student or be enrolled in a GED program.
  • Must have six (6) months of full-time employment experience working with young children.
  • Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
  • Must possess and maintain First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years old or older.
  • Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
  • Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
  • Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and well-being of all participants
  • Supervise and engage youth in daily activities (indoor/outdoor)
  • Maintain a positive, structured environment using behavior management strategies
  • Build strong relationships with youth, families, and staff
  • Assist with planning activities and maintaining records
  • Monitor for safety concerns and report issues as needed
  • Follow program policies and communicate concerns to supervisors
