Job Description Youth Activities Manager Reports to: General Manager FLSA Status: Salaried/Exempt Summary: The Youth Activities Manager supports youth programs to ensure that program goals and objectives are executed to the highest level.

Requirements

  • Has at least 3-5 years of management experience in Youth Programming, Education or Recreation, in a similar high-end private club setting. A Bachelor’s Degree is highly desirable, preferably in Recreation, Child Development or Hospitality Management
  • Strong organization skills are a must
  • Friendly, outgoing personality and interacts well with staff, members and guests.
  • The ability to see the big picture and set goals for his/her team.
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Jonas Software and Outlook.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in hot conditions for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, monitors and supervises Youth activities.
  • Plans and implements strategies to increase member and youth participation during events
  • Works closely with the Membership Director to maintain accurate demographic information on the children of club members
  • Plans, organizes and conducts training as needed for staff to ensure that they have information they need for each Youth event
  • Assists in the promotion of all club activities and events
  • Designs and utilizes designated spaces for youth activities
  • Participates in the development of the Youth Program budget
  • Prepares written and oral reports concerning program activities, objectives and effectiveness
  • Reviews and analyzes monthly financial reports relevant to the Youth Program Services; recommends corrective action strategies to help assure that budget goals are met
  • Works with members to plan and evaluate ongoing educational and entertainment programs
  • Effectively responds to member comments in accordance with Club standards, policies and rules; uses ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members
  • Develops multiple and diverse revenue-generating summer camp activities
  • Leads a variety of activities, events and programs designed to benefit and enrich the Youth Program participants
  • Provides consistent, quality of service to all members and their children
  • Plans, designs and oversees birthday and holiday parties for the members’ children, schedules staff as needed
  • Produces children’s communications and marketing material and ensures that all promotional and marketing material are current
  • Works with appropriate club personnel to develop strategies for increasing member usage, improving overall member satisfaction and defining benchmarking opportunities to measure the success of these efforts
  • Organizes and oversees children’s activities for Family Night
  • Interacts with other departments to promote youth programs
  • Maintains a clean work and storage area
  • Attends weekly F&B Meetings and Bi-Weekly Leadership Meetings, meets with General Manager
  • Approves payroll for youth staff in a timely and accurate manner
  • Attendance and punctuality are critical due to the accessibility to members during hours of operations, the scope of responsibilities, and impact on other positions and department.
