The Young Men’s Initiative (YMI) Mentoring Program is a DYCD-funded initiative designed to improve outcomes for young people, particularly Black and Latino youth, through structured mentoring, leadership development, and group-based programming. The program focuses on building confidence, supporting academic and career exploration, and fostering positive relationships with caring adults. Programs are delivered in community-based settings and require consistent implementation of structured mentoring sessions, participant tracking, and engagement strategies aligned with DYCD expectations. The YMI Coordinator is responsible for the full coordination and implementation of the site-based mentoring program. This includes planning and facilitating weekly mentoring sessions, recruiting and supporting mentors and participants, managing all program documentation, and ensuring compliance with DYCD requirements. This role is both administrative and programmatic. The Coordinator is expected to lead sessions, manage logistics (including trips and events), maintain organized records for audits and site visits, and ensure the program runs consistently and effectively throughout the year.
