This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the supervision of the Senior Aquatics Director and the Falcons Head Coach, the YMCA Falcons Assistant Swim Team Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the planning, organization, and instruction of the introductory preswim team and non-USA swimming athletes (Eagles program for participants (typically 5-15 years of age). This role is vital for developing basic swim skills, endurance, and water safety, preparing children for a competitive swim team or advanced aquatic programs. Additionally, the role includes required Deck Supervisor responsibilities, focusing on providing shift coverage, ensuring aquatic safety protocols, and supporting the daily operational needs of the pool deck.
