About The Position

YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake near Boulder, CO is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Kitchen Specialists to provide support for the camp by maintaining a clean, safe and enjoyable environment. Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • CPR/AED, First Aid certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date. We will provide these during staff training.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Kitchen Director to prepare meals for campers and staff members, including preparing salad and sandwich bars, special dietary needs, setting up the dining hall for mealtimes, and snacks.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Assists the Kitchen Director with cleaning kitchen appliances, cleaning the kitchen and dining hall spaces, dishwashing, organizing inventory and food service deliveries.
  • Reports to the Kitchen Director.
  • Helps maintain the kitchen and dining hall areas to meet Colorado State licensing and inspections, health inspections, ACA preparation and visitation.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of YMCA issues and records.
  • Maintaining friendly, professional relationships with staff, participants, and community members.
  • Practices positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques with natural consequences.
  • Required to attend and complete staff meetings, trainings, and all mandatory licensing required trainings.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
  • Attends required abuse risk management training.
  • Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
  • Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
