About The Position

Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) is a summer program designed to employ high school youth in natural resources, construction, and park maintenance related projects. The Program Manager is responsible for pre-season organization of the summer program and the management of the daily operation of the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC). Hours will vary during the pre-season, beginning in February of each year, but will work 40 hours a week from May – August. Drives a motorized vehicle to travel to different locations. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching and sitting. Performs heavy lifting tasks up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • College level course work in Parks and Recreation, Environmental Education or related field.
  • Two years of experience in supervision of youth.
  • Working knowledge of environmental education, conservation, construction, and grounds maintenance fields.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess valid motor vehicle driver's license.
