Schedule: A Shift Sunday-Tuesday: 6am- 6pm Wednesday: 6am- 12pm Job Summary: Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
- Drives truck to destination.
- Prepares receipts for loads pickup up.
- Maintain trucks log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains constant telephone or radio contact with dispatcher to receive instructions. Insure timely disposition of loaded and/or unloaded trailers.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
- Uses forklift trucks to load and unload trailers.
- Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and glow plugs.
- Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
- Performs related work as required.
