Responsibilities

• Drives truck to destination.
• Prepares receipts for loads pickup up.
• Maintain trucks log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains constant telephone or radio contact with dispatcher to receive instructions. Insure timely disposition of loaded and/or unloaded trailers.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
• Uses forklift trucks to load and unload trailers.
• Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and glow plugs.
• Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
• Performs related work as required.
