Overview Responsible for coordinating and optimizing vehicle movement and storage activities within the logistics yard to ensure efficient outbound dispatch of vehicles. This role serves as a critical link between production, yard operations, dispatch teams, and transport carriers, ensuring that all processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred to appropriate work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience and strong understanding of yard logistics, vehicle movement processes, vehicle transportation and inventory management, or a related role, preferably within an automotive, manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficiency in Yard Management Systems, Inventory Management and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with rail and truck loading/unloading operations.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs/LSPs) in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple priorities under time constraints.
  • Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across departments (Quality, Production, Engineering).
  • High attention to detail with the ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and resolve operational issues quickly.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma or PMP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Yard Planning and Vehicle Flow Management.
  • Plan and coordinate daily vehicle movements within the yard to support production output, carrier pickups, and shipping schedules.
  • Create and maintain vehicle parking strategies based on inventory levels, carrier assignments, and loading priorities.
  • Monitor yard capacity and optimize space utilization to avoid congestion or vehicle bottlenecks.
  • Ensure First-In-First-Out (FIFO) or other dispatch sequencing rules are followed as per customer/OEM requirements.
  • Analyze yard operations to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies; implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to yard activities.
  • Monitor KPIs such as vehicle dwell time, space utilization, and outbound accuracy to drive performance improvements.

  • Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
  • The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
  • Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
