About The Position

The Yard Manager is responsible for overall operations of the Precast Concrete
Shipping Yard.

Requirements

• Five (5) years of shipping experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory capacity
• Good Supervisory / Management skills
• Good Communication Skills
• Conflict management and problem-solving skills
• Proactive Approach and the Ability to Plan Ahead

Nice To Haves

• College or Technical degree/equivalent experience
• Prior Precast Shipping Supervisory / Management Experience
• Experience using ERP system such as SAP, NetSuite, IFS, Microsoft Dynamics, Etc…
• Ability to Read Blueprints
• Experience with precast yard equipment (Cranes, yard trucks, Hi Lo, etc..)

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe yard operations
• Schedule work hours for yard crew
• Responsible for the crane operators, ground crew, and Patch (Detail) Crew
• Maintain accurate and organized yard inventory
• Interview, hire, and train all yard employees
• Maintain weekly hours and picks to figure cost per square foot
• Inspect trucks at departure to ensure shipping accuracy
• Measure yard and patch crew effectiveness and seek process improvements
• Ensure timely deliveries to field crews – All jobs ready to ship with 100% on time delivery (Requires working with internal and external teams / customers)
• Manage Yard budget and control costs
