Yard Laborer
About The Position
Givens is Driven to Deliver- both for our customers and our employees. Since 1957 we have provided our customers a single source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We have been growing significantly over the last few years and continue to grow at a rapid pace. We are looking for a Yard Laborer/ Forklift Operator for our Packing and Crating division. You must have forklift experience driving a 30k to 36K forklift as well as have rigging or securing freight experience If you have this experience, we would like to meet you!
Requirements
- Experience moving heavy objects.
- Working outside in warehouse yard securing freight to ocean equipment containers (open top/flat rack) for export.
- Unloading import freight from ocean equipment containers.
- Use of chains/binders, strapping material, tape measures, power tools (nail guns/saws).
- Attention to detail.
- Careful handling of freight.
- Able to withstand outside conditions during the seasons.
Responsibilities
- Securing of freight to flat racks and in open top containers.
- Utilizing Industrial forklifts to accomplish tasks.
- Cleaning out/off containers and work areas.
- Must be able to follow direction, work independently or work in a team.
- Careful handling of customer freight.
