Comlink Solutions is an OSP fiber utility construction company hiring a yard hand to work in our construction yard. This is an entry level position, no experience necessary. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, who like working outdoors doing physical work, and want to learn to further advance in their skills in the utility construction industry. Duties include construction yard tasks such as receiving, organizing, delivery of job site materials, and grounds maintenance. A wide variety of duties require organization, excellent communication and acceptance of a variety of work tasks and direction to be successful.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or the equivalent in knowledge and training required
- Ability to read instructions and take work direction verbally and in writing
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook or other email systems
- Experience using software systems for inventory management and work tickets
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Must have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card
- Must be able to pass background check
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing
Nice To Haves
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Responsible for receiving all yard deliveries, routing packages as needed and placing yard and job site materials in storage areas
- Organize, track and maintain inventory of customer job site materials stored at yard facilities
- Deliver materials, tools or equipment to job sites as needed
- Perform yard site inspections as required
- May be asked to perform light vehicle maintenance duties such as tire rotations and oil changes as permitted
- Perform physical laborer duties such as digging with shovels and potholing as needed in support of crew needs
- Must comply with all safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
