ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Medical Assistant & X-Ray Technician will Perform a selected nursing, lab, administrative, and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management under the direction of a Physician, PA, or NP and concurrent with ChenMed medical protocols and in accordance with policies, practices and procedures and applicable regulations. Perform radiological duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process. Perform a brief history, establishing vital signs, recording appropriate documentation and recognizing levels of acuity allowing appropriate medical intervention when necessary. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Promptly greets patients when entering waiting area, exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room. Consistently communicates with patients on wait times; provides direction to the next step in the treatment process. Provides solutions to patient problems and recognizes and seeks help in emergent/ hazardous situations. Positions patient under X-Ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices, and provides appropriate radiation protection. Administers routine X-Ray exams, assists in physical exams, assists physician in treatment of injured patients by giving injections, changing dressings, or removing sutures under the physicians or nurses directions. Adjusts switches regulating length and intensity of exposure. Prepares reports and maintains records of services rendered. Maintains radiological film files and storage, pulls X-Rays as required for referrals and/or copying. Keeps logs for X-Rays sent out for referrals. Makes minor adjustments to equipment. Performs duties to achieve or exceed established service standards. Other responsibilities may include: Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing personnel including procedures, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy and X-rays. Delivers quality customer service and maintains established quality control standards. Shows patients to exam rooms according to company standards. Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies. Processes appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion. Respects patient confidentiality at all times. Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms and sterilizes instruments. Maintains quality control standards and required certifications.

Requirements

  • Ability to use MS Office package or similar programs.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • One year of employment as a Medical Assistant (recent clinical experience).
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program such as AAMA, AMT (RMA), or NCQT.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Medical Assistant certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with geriatric patients.
  • EMR system experience.
