About The Position

The Manufacturing Support Team Member serves as the right‑hand to the First Line Leader (FLL), ensuring the production team has the resources needed to meet daily commitments. This position will report to the Associate Completion Manager for the X-59 program and will require on-site support at Armstrong Flight Research Center which is located at Edwards Air Force Base. What You Will Be Doing Partnering with the FLL to resolve daily constraints, drive program execution, and lead team huddles when the FLL is absent. Coordinating part kits, tools, consumables, and shop orders two weeks ahead of schedule; acting as the review authority to achieve “negotiable” status on the floor. Identifying process, tooling, and workmanship improvements; presenting findings at Performance Management Team meetings. Assisting with root‑cause analysis, CAP development, and implementation for workmanship defects. Conducting area walk‑downs for 6S, ESH, FOD, and tool‑control compliance; escalating non‑conformances to the FLL. Providing on‑the‑job training (OJT) to technicians Ensuring timely calibration of equipment. Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or high‑mix, low‑volume production.
  • Solid understanding of production planning/control, total quality management, and basic engineering concepts.
  • Advanced experience supporting cross‑functional teams and delivering practical solutions to complex problems.
  • Must meet at least two of the desired skills
  • Ability to travel to Edwards AFB

Nice To Haves

  • Strong communication and leadership skills; experience with leading huddles and providing OJT.
  • Proficiency in coordinating with Engineering, ME, IE, Quality, SCM, MRP, and tool‑design groups.
  • Experience with 6S/housekeeping, ESH compliance, and tool‑control processes.
  • Ability to perform root‑cause analysis, develop corrective action plans, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with scheduling impacts, part‑kit negotiation, and inventory readiness.
  • Excellent problem‑solving mindset, with a focus on reducing constraints and enhancing workflow efficiency.
  • Post‑secondary degree or technical training in manufacturing, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under general direction and manage multiple priorities.
