About The Position

At Veritas Church, we believe God himself is the greatest treasure in life and is worthy of our praise. Worship is one of the primary ways we form disciples, proclaim the gospel, and lead people toward a deeper love of Jesus. The Veritas Residency Program exists to give recent college graduates an authentic, full-time ministry experience that integrates discipleship, theological development, and hands-on ministry. Residents grow as disciples, learn to live as everyday missionaries, and gain a compelling vision for the role of worship in the local church. The Worship Resident plays a key role in planning and leading Salt Company gatherings, youth worship environments and assisting with Sunday morning corporate worship. This role focuses on developing musical excellence, spiritual maturity, and leadership skills.

Requirements

  • A growing biblical theology of worship and a love for Christ-centered corporate worship.
  • Demonstrated musical competency—vocals or primary instrument required.
  • Willingness to grow in worship leading, musical skill, and spiritual leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate with musicians, leaders, and volunteers.
  • Teachable, humble, and eager to develop as a worship leader.

  • Agree with the mission, values, and beliefs of Veritas Church .
  • Possess and demonstrate the biblical qualifications of a leader in the church.
  • 40-hour per week commitment from mid/late May through April 30 of the following year.
  • Integration into staff culture, including all-staff meetings and events.
  • Assigned theological readings and group discussions to support spiritual and ministry growth.
  • Participation in weekly worship ministry meetings to help in the planning of corporate worship.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree (or upcoming graduation) is preferred
  • Previous worship team involvement or worship leading experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Help plan and lead worship across Sunday services, Salt Company gatherings, and student environments.
  • Assist with choosing songs, building setlists, and preparing Planning Center plans.
  • Participate in rehearsals, run-throughs, and live service execution.
  • Lead worship vocally or instrumentally and grow through coaching in musical skill, stage leadership, and worship culture.
  • Build and lead rehearsals for worship teams, including students and Salt musicians.
  • Contribute to arranging songs, creating charts, and preparing tracks and other rehearsal resources.
  • Partner with Worship, Production, Youth, and College ministry staff to create cohesive, excellent worship environments.
