About The Position

Job Status: Part Time, 15 - 20 hours/week; $25.00/hour Role Summary: The Worship Leader will have responsibilities that include working with the pastor in planning and leading meaningful worship experiences from week to week.

Requirements

Passion for worship and helping others connect with God through music and liturgy
Familiarity with United Methodist theology and worship practices
Previous experience in worship leading
Piano, keyboard or acoustic guitar proficiency required
Willing and able to work with musicians of varying backgrounds and skill levels
Experience in teaching and developing musicians individually and as a group
Experience in leading vocalists
Must possess good organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the pastor and music team in planning and leading worship each week, as well as special services including but not limited to Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter
Lead the music during worship services
Facilitates worship through prayers, transitions, and other aspects of worship related to timing and theme
Familiarity with United Methodist theology for the purpose of planning and leading worship
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Participate in staff and church meetings as appropriate
Support the ministries of Safe Harbor UMC and maintain an active presence in the life of the church
Meets regularly with the pastor for planning and supervisory conversations
Understanding copyright procedures and expectations
Prepare music for bulletins and digital presentations
Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Must be motivated to work with volunteers
Other duties as assigned
