About The Position

Resurrection has an opening for a Worship Experience Coordinator for our Worship Experience Team! The position is part-time, variable and is located at the Leawood campus at 13720 Roe Ave. The Worship Experience Coordinator will serve as the leader for specific Worship events and programs in collaboration with the Worship Experience Team. Coordinator activities include overseeing volunteer teams and providing on-site management of events such as Christmas at Resurrection, special worship music events/concerts, weekend worship services, Holy Communion and special services including Candlelight Christmas Eve and Easter across all Resurrection locations. The Worship Experience Coordinator may also fill in for regular staff during absences or extended time away.

Requirements

Required Skills: Positive and professional communication skills with strong acumen for working with a wide variety of people.
Proficient computer skills, especially with MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Data management expertise through database maintenance and reporting.
Aptitude working with web content management software.
Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50lbs., stand for long periods of time and walk extensively during worship services.

Responsibilities

Serve as the on-site Staff leader in Worship Experience for assigned events and services
Provide holistic leadership, training, and support to all Worship Experience/Guest Connection Teams
Manage volunteer schedules and ensure adequate coverage for events/services
Provide just-in-time training for each specific event and communicate the expectations/priorities for each serving role
Offer support and encouragement as well as redirection if needed for volunteers serving at events/services
When applicable, prepare for and conduct meetings, trainings, and celebration/recognition events
Oversee set up and tear down of worship space and common areas for event/service
Manage logistics of special handouts, catering and/or promotional items
In collaboration with the Worship Experience Team provide timely oversight of any guest follow up designated for a specific event/service
Troubleshoot and manage event/facility in collaboration with Worship Experience, Facilities, Security and other Resurrection teams.
Attend Worship Experience and Location-specific team meetings as related to the specifically assigned event(s)
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Follow Jesus and engage in the “five essential practices” of the Christian life: worship, study, serve, give, and share.
Support the church’s purpose of “building a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious people become deeply committed Christians.”
Exemplify the church’s values and support its theological direction as a United Methodist Church.
