About The Position

The Worship Development Director is a new role designed to serve all Forest Hill campuses by providing musical leadership, creative development, and production oversight. This position focuses on equipping and supporting Worship Directors, Musical Directors, contractors, and volunteers to ensure musical excellence, spiritual leadership, and unity across every campus. The primary focus of this role is leadership development and Sunday service execution. It emphasizes collaboration, alignment, and growth within the worship ministry. The Worship Development Director partners closely with the Lead of Worship to ensure that Forest Hills musical culture consistently reflects the churchs mission and values while advancing the musical development of every campus.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Music, Worship Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in musical directing, composing, teaching, or production with a strong theological foundation in worship.
  • Mastery of at least two instruments (e.g., keys, guitar).
  • Advanced knowledge of music theory, composition, and vocal arranging.
  • Proficiency with music production software (Ableton, Logic, Reason, etc.).
  • Ability to arrange and adapt across a variety of genres (pop, gospel, R&B, Latin, rock, etc.).
  • Excellent relational and pastoral leadership skills.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Deep alignment with Forest Hills mission and values.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and spiritual maturity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and equip Musical Directors, Worship Directors, and volunteers in musical excellence and collaboration.
  • Oversee musical direction for Sunday services and special events, ensuring alignment with Forest Hills mission and worship DNA.
  • Musical Director for Sunday services.
  • Produce and arrange FHC original songs, creative arrangements, and live recordings in partnership with campus teams and the Lead of Worship.
  • Coordinate music production for Worship Nights, Central Events, and media projects, including custom scoring when needed.
  • Manage musical systems (Ableton, Planning Center, Box, etc.) to ensure consistency and readiness across campuses.
  • Collaborate with campus teams to maintain quality and continuity in musical execution and spiritual leadership.
  • Assist in worship leading across campuses as needed.
  • Foster spiritual growth and unity among musicians and leaders by modeling humility, excellence, and pastoral care.
  • Meet bi-weekly with the Lead of Worship to plan initiatives, assess progress, and discuss development needs.
