About The Position

This position works to bridge the gap between incarceration and employment for justice-involved individuals. These specialists are responsible for developing individualized employment plans, building industry partnerships, and providing career coaching to help returning citizens secure stable jobs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in social service, criminal justice, or a related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Developing individualized employment, training, and education plans, often starting within 1 month of a person’s release.
  • Building networks with employers to create job opportunities, apprenticeships, or pre-apprenticeship programs specifically for justice-involved individuals.
  • Conducting assessments, workshops, and training on work readiness, resume building, and interview preparation with correctional facilities.
  • Assisting with job retention, providing ongoing coaching, and helping with immediate needs like obtaining identification documents.
  • Collaborating with community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and American Job Centers.
  • Keep accurate progress notes and monthly reviews in accordance with the client’s treatment plan.
  • Any other duties assigned.
