About The Position

The Workforce Development Manager (WFD-M) is responsible for providing day-to-day management of internal and external recruitment for adult education opportunities, managing the day-to-day tasks as it relates to classes, workforce development support groups, provide workforce coaching and training and setting up tours at local partners for all students. Requirements

  • Strong professional demeanor
  • Experience teaching or overseeing a program that serves a culturally diverse adult population
  • Demonstrated ability to forge effective relationships with staff, students and collateral agencies
  • Proven ability to handle a multitude of tasks
  • Ability to take initiative and handle multiple priorities
  • The candidate must be highly organized, have excellent and timely interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three years in a supervisory role, or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in post-secondary or adult educational field or workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Cherry Street Mission workforce development strategy to increase student access to career and post-secondary education opportunities.
  • Run day to day operations of the program including staff and volunteer supervision.
  • Oversee community outreach, recruitment and selection of candidates.
  • Ensure training and curricula taught is aligned with industry needs.
  • Regularly assess input from workforce development staff, volunteers, students, and employers to recommend program development initiatives.
  • Participate in budget preparation and assist in monitoring and maintaining appropriate oversight and cost controls.
  • Coordinate special events such as graduations, job fairs, and alumni events.
  • Report preparation with qualitative data and program highlights to share with community stakeholders.
  • Oversee job development and placement process.
  • Ensure student safety and collaborate with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and redemptive
  • Coordinate use of LRC.
  • Connection to employers sought for students.
  • Teach and participate in Ready to Succeed Curriculum
  • Responsible for job duties as it relates to the Good Jobs Challenge and other grant opportunities as they arise.
  • Essential Functions may be revised upon management discretion
