About The Position

At Wycliffe Bible Translators, your work is more than just a job. As the Workforce Development Intern, you’ll play a vital role in advancing Wycliffe’s mission by supporting the day-to-day activities of Wycliffe's Workforce Development team. Your contributions will help teams maintain smooth workflows, support effective communication, support meaningful research and help staff and partners stay focused on what matters most. In this role, you’ll gain meaningful hands-on experience while actively supporting Wycliffe’s mission to advance Bible translation around the world so people can encounter God through His Word. You’ll support Workforce Development leadership and other team members by helping to: - Research, develop, implement and coordinate the new Upskilling initiative - Research, develop, implement and coordinate the new Reskilling initiative - Develop, implement and coordinate learning resources - Develop, implement and coordinate ongoing workforce development initiatives Overview of the Workforce Development The Workforce Development team develops and provides tools, learning resources, and training to equip and empower our staff to deliver effective service, ensuring they are ready and resourced to fulfill their calling and advance Wycliffe’s mission. Requirements

  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in tools such as Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Slides, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Familiarity with email platforms, Slack and video conferencing software such as Zoom, and project management tools such as Teamwork. Ability to conduct internet research and quickly learn new software as needed.
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a bachelor’s program in instructional design, human resources, communication, education, educational psychology, organizational development, learning technologies, business administration, nonprofit management, ministry or a related field.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, as evidenced by your personal testimony.
  • Identify with and participate in a church and proactively seek to grow your faith in Christ.
  • Establish and maintain a team of prayer partners who will support you in your season of ministry at Wycliffe (minimum 3-5 partners).
  • Actively participate in corporate prayer and devotional times.
  • Maintain an exemplary standard of biblical ethics, behavior and conduct within Wycliffe and in your public and private life outside of Wycliffe.
  • Agree to abide by Wycliffe’s ethics, behavior and conduct standards at all times.
  • Demonstrate Christ-like maturity in all interactions as displayed by good judgment based on biblical values and principles.
  • Actively incorporate your faith in Christ, as well as Wycliffe’s beliefs and core values, in all aspects of your daily work.

Nice To Haves

  • Nonprofit, ministry or recruiting work experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with diverse staff types and ministry service is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with adult learning approaches, instructional design, or media production tools and software (e.g., Articulate 360, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, videography, or similar) is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Faithfully and regularly pray for the ongoing work of Bible translation and for people from around the world to experience transformation.
  • Act as an organizational representative presenting the global ministry of Wycliffe and encouraging interested individuals, organizations and churches to participate in the work of Bible translation.
  • Live out the conviction that “work flows through relationship” by passionately “loving God and loving people” through word and deed.
  • Promote team and organizational culture standards, ensuring high customer service standards.
  • Collaborate on departmental initiatives to provide a best-in-class experience for Wycliffe USA future and existing staff.
  • Assist with cross-functional team responsibilities and tactical team/departmental initiatives.
  • Work alongside the Director of Upskilling, Orientation and Learning Design and other team members to:
  • Assist in the research, development, coordination, and implementation of training initiatives.
  • Assist with the content, creative, curricular approach, and/or technical design and delivery of contextualized, effective and measurable development experiences that equip staff to thrive and contribute to accelerated Bible translation progress.
  • Assist with ongoing Workforce development initiatives.
  • Assist with EnterMission, Wycliffe’s weekly staff meeting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Upskilling, Orientation and Learning Design.
