About The Position

Scope of Position Assess jobseekers and determine the most appropriate path to return to work. Provide support and assistance in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement. May provide support to individuals that were/are justice involved.

Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts
  • Demonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, business, education, training or related area
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows, Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized case management and career counseling to participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement
  • Complete necessary WIOA data entry requirements in CWDS
  • Coordinate with program leadership to prepare performance reports, suggest program innovations and improvements, and celebrate participant successes
  • Develop and update a customized service plan to align with participant employment and training goals
  • Follow-up with partner agencies to ensure successful engagement in prescribed support services
  • Counsel, motivate and encourage assigned caseload of participants to develop and guide through a customized career pathway and training opportunities
  • Provide the support that participants need to overcome barriers and reach their employment/educational goals
  • Monitor participant progress via outreach, at least monthly, to ensure successful employment and training outcomes
  • Offer follow-up support services to help participants retain employment or educational goals to ensure that performance measures are met
  • Assist in the outreach and recruitment of new participants to explain the program’s eligibility requirements to perspective participants
  • Determine program eligibility and ascertain required documentation
  • Document services provided in digital management system
  • Maintain data on employment, education, retention and other performance measure requirements
  • Attend all staff meetings in order to contribute to program issues and update on agency issues
  • Attend scheduled in-service training in order to develop professional skills
  • Assist participants with professional resume development, cover letters, and job application strategies aligned with targeted occupations
  • Facilitate mock interviews and interview preparation to build participant confidence and improve hiring outcomes
  • Deliver job readiness services, including career exploration, labor market information, transferable skills analysis, and job search techniques
  • Collaborate closely with the Employment/Business Services team to connect participants with job leads, hiring events, employer referrals, and work-based learning opportunities
  • Facilitate workshops (job readiness, resume writing, interview skills, etc.) for individuals or groups
  • Ensure timely, accurate case notes and documentation to support WIOA compliance, performance measures, and audit readiness.
  • Assist participants with ITA-related activities, including documentation support and coordination with training providers
