Requirements

  • Good communication (listening, verbal, written) and teamwork skills
  • Analytical/research skills
  • Computer/technical literacy with Microsoft Office programs

  • Problem solving/reasoning skills
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years’ experience working in or around a machine shop
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Role requires the ability to stand or walk for long periods, up to 70% of the workday with intermittent changes in activity
  • Role requires the ability to reach above and below the shoulders, twist at waist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb stairs
  • Frequently, it will be necessary to lift up to 35 LBS, requiring proper lifting techniques and/or material handling equipment and PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving a forklift is a plus
  • Experience with BPCS is a plus
  • Lean and/or Continuous Improvement training is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Review planned shop orders for the machine shop and optimize the flow of work through various machine work centers.
  • Monitor shop order progression to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Track customer and machine assembly orders to guarantee on-time completion.
  • Analyze work center loading and collaborate with the planning team to balance production schedules and small-batch job requirements.
  • Support the programming team with routing of new parts and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) requests.
  • Update existing routings to reflect new or improved manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in developing accurate routings and cost estimates for new projects and parts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and enhance quoting accuracy.
  • Utilize planning tools to organize workflow including Excel, ERP system, and dispatch report.
  • Deliver and communicate plans to optimize workflow to maximize OT&C and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Assist organization with projects throughout the machine shop.
  • Data entry and comprehending an ERP system.
  • Provide daily update reports to machine shop manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
