About The Position

The Workers’ Compensation Administrator is responsible for supporting Smyrna Ready Mix Concrete, LLC’s Workers’ Compensation Department, through efficient coordination, documentation, and communication of all claim-related activities. This position ensures timely handling of employee injury documentation, compliance with reporting requirements, and seamless collaboration between employees, HR representatives, management, and external partners such as clinics and insurance adjusters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in workers’ compensation, insurance claims, HR administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), PowerPoint, and data entry systems.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Pre-Injury Wage Statements for all reported incidents.
  • Prepare and send clinic authorizations for post-accident medical treatment.
  • Complete and issue ePassports for post-accident drug and alcohol testing
  • Coordinate with HR representatives on return-to-work status(s)
  • Manage/Monitor Compliance with Return-to-Work Letters/Documents
  • Send paystubs for modified-duty employees to adjusters/weekly and investigate any missing hours with HR representatives.
  • Manage department phones, route calls appropriately, and respond to general inquiries.
  • Maintain professional communication with employees, managers, medical providers, and insurance representatives.
  • Manage large volume of incoming Workers’ Compensation mailbox emails, ensuring timely responses and organization.
  • Retrieve, redact, and compile employee and workers’ compensation files for legal, audit, or compliance purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records, notes, and updates within the FileVine case management system.
  • Organize and archive documents per company and legal retention policies.
  • Prepare and maintain critical weekly and monthly reports for department and senior management review.
  • Audit documentation and claim files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with state and company requirements.
  • Manage all departmental mail — opening, sorting, scanning, and distributing as appropriate.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Workers’ Compensation team as needed.
