About The Position

The Disabilities Resource Center (DRC) provides services to Santa Fe College's students with disabilities. The goal of the DRC is to ensure that students with disabilities are afforded an equal opportunity to fully participate in all aspects of life at Santa Fe College. The DRC is seeking a highly organized student to assist and provide support to staff and visitors at the Center, as well as provide accommodation support, such as reading and scribing for students who are blind. The student must be available to work the mornings of Monday - Thursday and Friday afternoon. Application deadline: This position is posted continuously and until filled.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled Santa Fe College student, in good academic standing, taking six (6) or more credit hours.
  • A criminal background check will be conducted.
  • Must maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere by greeting, responding to, scheduling appointments for students, and directing visitors at the Disabilities Resource Center.
  • Accepts, screens, and routes telephone calls concerning activities and operations of the Center, directing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Provides some front-line level of resolution to questions or concerns while making appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Distributes mail and office supplies and operates and maintains copier/printer
  • Operates and maintains office equipment such as copy machines, laminators, and document shredders to scan documents, print documents, etc.
  • Ensures rooms are cleanly by wiping down desks in the testing room, computer lab, breakroom, and sanitizing desks/chairs.
  • Provides general administrative support for Disabilities Resource Center staff.
  • Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
  • Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
