About The Position

Develop and oversee short- and long-term plans for golf course management including but not limited to putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, landscape cultivating and development pesticide usage, watering practices & irrigation (including wells, pumps, & automatic controls) and equipment operation and service.

Requirements

Superintendent should have a degree in an accredited learning institute in Agronomy/Horticulture/Plant/Soil Science.
Must be certified and/or licensed in category of Ornamental and Turf and Public Health from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Responsibilities

Oversee the development and management of the golf course.
Supervising the construction and maintenance of the golf course; maintenance facilities, shelters, fences, golf cart paths, service roads, parking lots and ponds & lakes
Train, motivate and supervise all employees in a safe and efficient manner.
Take care and maintain all golf course turf, greens and equipment.
Supervising the servicing and repair of turf grass maintenance and construction equipment.
Prepare yearly budgets and reports.
Prepare an annual Golf Course Management budget and capital budget pertaining to course management financial controls and employee benefits.
Hire and fire employees.
Understand golf Rules & Regulations and playing conditions.
Develop and maintain an Inventory Control System.
Keeping appropriate records (Inventory Control)
Develop and maintain a Quality Control Program.
Being in proper uniform; shirts must be tucked in and proper shoes must be worn.
As a “Team Player” of Boca Woods Country Club, the employee must be flexible and is required to perform any job in what ever capacity as requested by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance that may be necessary for the smooth operation of maintenance on the golf courses.
