We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Withdrawal Management Specialist. Responsibilities include assisting in coordinating and monitoring patient activities, as well as the day-to-day operations of the Withdrawal Management unit during the assigned shift. Available to work shifts (2nd & 3rd) - FT & PT. All applicants must undergo pre-employment drug screening, which includes testing for marijuana, background checks, and a TB test.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience with substance misuse, providing direct patient care, assessment, triage, crisis intervention, and group counseling.
  • Solid communication skills and basic computer skills are required.
  • CPR and First-Aid certification (initial training and renewals paid for by the agency).
  • Must be able to take vital signs and recognize medical problems.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) or the ability to obtain it within 18 months of the hire date is required.

Responsibilities

  • Takes vital signs as required (training is provided).
  • Conduct intake screens and assess potential patients. Obtains pertinent information regarding patient drug/alcohol use, medical, social history, and patient needs.
  • Provides information to the agency physician regarding medical issues, medication clearance, and monitors medication according to operating policy and the physician’s directions.
  • Provides case management services to all patients enrolled in the withdrawal management program. Conducts individual and group sessions. Completes necessary paperwork. Monitors patients throughout the shift.
  • Assists in medical/mental health treatment referrals and informs supervisor of all incidents beyond the scope of the typical withdrawal management functions.
  • Verify the accuracy of monitoring reports.
