WI-Waupun Memorial Hospital Worker Type: Intern/Temporary (Trainee) Job Summary: Supports radiologic health professionals by preparing the room for procedures, providing patient support, assistant with procedures, and maintaining supply inventory. Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Transports patients to procedure rooms. Assists with patient pre-screening. Prepares and positions patients under the guidance of the technologist. Provides patient education related to the examination under the guidance of the technologist. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Assists in the setup of diagnostic area to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing room, and any other areas in the department. Cleans and restocks room after procedures and maintains inventory. Respects patient confidentiality and maintains Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age prior to start date and current high school student
  • Acceptance into Youth Apprenticeship program through local high school
  • No experience required
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Or
  • FUTURE - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) within 90 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
