Job Summary The Substation Wireman maintains and preforms repairs, modifications, replacements and installation of a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment systems while adhering to EEI’s Safety First Culture This role supports the construction of new Substations as well as modifications, and upgrades of existing Substations for Electrical Utility Companies. This is a traveling role that requires working in different job sites all over the state of Florida. Per diem is provided when applicable.

Requirements

Must have previous substation experience.
Must be willing to travel around Florida.

Responsibilities

Have advanced knowledge of the tasks required to perform all phases of substation work in accordance with the power company standards and perform the work as directed by your supervisor.
The Substation knowledge that is required includes hook up and dress transformers, set poles, equipment, and steel structures, adjust switches, and pull and terminate control cables.
Responsible for completion of all required paperwork and job logs.
Able to work with limited or no supervision.
Troubleshoot power and control circuits.
Have no issues with heights or working from a boom lift.
Understand, communicate and train hand signals required for equipment operation.
