About The Position

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Wireless Bluetooth Software Development Engineer for the Wireless Software team to help develop best in class telematics solutions. The role involves design and development of Bluetooth software for next generation telematics systems across Tesla vehicle platforms (S, 3, X, Y and CyberTruck) and new feature development on the existing products. The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams and SoC vendors. The ability to work independently and creatively solving challenging design problems is of paramount importance. This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with tight timing constraints. Prepare product and system requirements for Bluetooth SoC vendors based on the Tesla next-generation platform requirements

Requirements

Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating exceptional expertise in the domain
Excellent understanding and hands-on experiences of SW design & tests on Bluetooth based products
Strong coding skills and hands-on experiences in C/C++programming
Excellent understanding of Linux kernel, bootchain, drivers, and Bluetooth stack including A2DP, HFP, and BLE audio
Proficiency with over-the-air sniffers such as Fronline or Ellisys

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience on open-source Bluetooth stacks, such as Bluez, is a big plus
Skilled at Perl/Python, Shell scripts is a plus

Responsibilities

Define the software delivery and validation plans with vendors to meet Tesla program timelines
Bring up Bluetooth subsystem on new platforms along with Wireless Hardware teams
Integrate Bluetooth connectivity stack provided by SoC vendors into Tesla operating system
Contribute to rapid prototyping and evaluation of Tesla’s next generation wireless platforms
Develop new features in well organized, efficient, and scalable C++ code
Develop telemetry and analytics platform enabling data collection, analysis and visualization of data reported from Tesla fleet
Conduct various scenarios of SW driven validations to ensure wireless connectivity performance of Tesla fleet
Root-cause issues reported from different test scenarios and customers
Implement continuous improvements and best practices within the team, and larger organization
