Role Description The Wire Fabrication Technician uses a variety of avionics tools, techniques, and materials to fabricate wire harnesses, simple parts, and subassemblies used in the completion of VIP aircraft.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required. Relevant trade school training is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication processes as they relate to the corporate aviation industry, preferably within an aircraft completions environment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of, and willingness to learn, all aspects of the wire fabrication process.
  • Willingness to develop knowledge of RSQM and FAA requirements related to wire harnesses and subassembly fabrication.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software applications utilized by Comlux.
  • Willingness to learn lean manufacturing principles or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, assertive, and tactful manner.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate high-quality wire harnesses and subassemblies in accordance with Comlux approved procedures.
  • Interpret material specifications and engineering drawings to ensure fabricated parts meet design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Request required materials using approved documentation and systems in a timely manner to maintain continuous workflow.
  • Adhere to all regulatory documentation requirements, including proper signoffs and completion of paperwork in accordance with the Comlux RSQM and other applicable quality standards.
  • Follow all departmental safety guidelines and ensure proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of company installation procedures, process specifications, IOPs, and related documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
