About The Position
The Fabrication Technician is responsible for supporting fabrication and assembly operations by preparing, forming, and finishing materials in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. This role works closely with production and engineering teams to ensure components are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with customer requirements.
Requirements
- Basic fabrication and metalworking techniques
- Blueprint reading and interpretation
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Time management and ability to meet production deadlines
- Team-oriented mindset
- Commitment to safety and quality
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Nice To Haves
- Previous fabrication, manufacturing, or shop experience preferred
- Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication tasks including cutting, forming, drilling, grinding, and finishing of metal components
- Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
- Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Measure and inspect parts using precision tools to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances
- Prepare materials and components for assembly or further processing
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 6S or similar standards
- Identify and report discrepancies, defects, or process issues to supervision
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures and policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
