About The Position

Dallas College offers an internship opportunity designed to provide individuals with practical work experience and knowledge in a field related to their degree. Interns will have the chance to shadow and receive training from experienced professionals. Dallas College, established in 1965 and formerly known as Dallas County Community College District, has served over three million students. Comprising seven campuses across the Dallas/Fort Worth area, it stands as one of the largest community college systems in Texas. The institution is dedicated to being a leader in the community college sector, prioritizing students in all its endeavors.   • Official/unofficial transcripts or an Advisory Report will be required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for effective communication with individuals of an increasingly diverse college community.
  • No previous work experience required.
  • Will be subject to a criminal background check.
  • Some positions may be subject to a fingerprint check.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) semesters at an institution of higher learning, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake a range of ongoing activities and assigned projects under the close mentorship of a professional staff member.
  • Engage in projects of varying professional complexity, applying knowledge and expertise gained through the current pursuit of a relevant higher education degree.
  • Work as a member of a professional team under the guidance of more senior professional personnel.
  • Directly interact with colleagues and/or other stakeholders or constituents in the planning, implementation, and execution of assigned projects and tasks.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, including arriving on time for designated work, notifying the supervisor of any deviations from the established schedule, and adhering to the organization's dress standards.
  • Perform job-related tasks as directed by incumbents, beyond those specifically presented in the description.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
