About The Position

The primary function of this position is to help high school Track athletes through all the workouts and discussions throughout the camp. We look for someone that is knowledgeable in the sport/event while having the passion to share that knowledge to others in a positive way. To Lead any of the segmented activities, workouts, or discussions. Communicate camper needs to campers, parents, and other Camp Staff Record camper check-in/out statistics and answer parent questions at pick up/drop off Display a consistently dedicated, fun, and upbeat attitude to positively contribute to a camp environment Address, document, and resolve camper behavioral issues in the moment and ongoing throughout camp Track number of campers and always remain mindful of potential hazards for campers Communicate running expectations on the track or on public sidewalks. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to work with ages 9 th -12 th graders in a variety of group sizes
  • Excellent people, communication, and organization skills
  • Available on Sundays of January 11 th through February 22 nd
  • Must be a UWS student in good academic standing
  • Must have 4+ years of Track and Field experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead any of the segmented activities, workouts, or discussions
  • Communicate camper needs to campers, parents, and other Camp Staff
  • Record camper check-in/out statistics and answer parent questions at pick up/drop off
  • Display a consistently dedicated, fun, and upbeat attitude to positively contribute to a camp environment
  • Address, document, and resolve camper behavioral issues in the moment and ongoing throughout camp
  • Track number of campers and always remain mindful of potential hazards for campers
  • Communicate running expectations on the track or on public sidewalks
  • Follows all emergency procedures and enforces camp rules
  • Plans and coordinates camp events
  • Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper use of camp facilities and equipment
  • Leads and supports campers as they participate in activities
  • Reports and records details of incidents to appropriate stakeholders
  • Monitors campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and to prevent accidents
