About The Position

Oliver Winery, the 30th largest winery in the country, has an opening for an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager. This is a critical leadership position responsible for the technical integrity, operational efficiency, and long-term reliability of the winery and hospitality facilities. This role oversees all aspects of facility maintenance, capital projects, and engineering standards to ensure seamless high-volume production while maintaining strict safety and quality compliance. Not only will you get the opportunity to work on large projects, you will own the maintenance of our wine-making equipment, the production line all on a 4.5 day work week so you have time to enjoy your weekends. Requirements

  • 5+ years of maintenance or engineering leadership in a high-speed manufacturing environment (Beverage, Food, or CPG preferred).
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley/Siemens) and SCADA systems
  • Deep understanding of food processing equipment, liquid filling technology, labeling, and palletizing.
  • Knowledge of sustainable manufacturing practices and water/energy reduction
  • Experience managing high-pressure steam, refrigeration, and CO2 systems.
  • Experience leading, managing and developing staff.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and maintenance software.
  • Experience with reviewing and development of technical/architectural/engineering drawings.
  • Experience with vendor negotiations.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Ability to lift or move a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and all other municipal and state codes.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to be insured on company vehicles.
  • Due to the nature of our business, must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program to minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Manage the maintenance team ensuring high engagement and technical skill development.
  • Perform and delegate hands-on repair work in a prioritized and timely manner.
  • Oversee the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, spare parts inventory, and equipment history.
  • Analyze and improve results of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • In close collaboration with the VP of Operations, lead the design, installation, and commissioning of new production lines, including conveyors, filters, fillers, pasteurizers, and packaging equipment.
  • Ensure Capital projects for production equipment and facilities upgrades are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
  • Implement automation and robotics solutions to improve throughput and reduce manual labor dependencies.
  • Optimize and lead installation and upgrades of utility systems, including steam boilers, glycol chillers systems, CO2 and Nitrogen systems, compressed air, and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with OSHA, EPA, and FDA/SQF food safety standards.
  • Oversees recordkeeping and inspections for various compliance areas (Homeland Security, Fire Marshal inspections, Insurance Adjustor, Elevator/Boiler Inspections, etc).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and energy consumption.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure all equipment meets sanitary design and CIP (Clean-in-Place) requirements.
  • Effectively collaborates with department managers to formulate department goals and initiatives to support achievement of overall company goals.
